Ring Battery Doorbell Pro: Enhance Your Home Security

Ring has announced an update to their popular outdoor camera, the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro. True to its naming convention, the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro offers improvements in almost every aspect.

Ring itself calls the new model the “most advanced battery-powered doorbell camera”. In fact, the product is claimed to surpass the features of some of their existing wireless doorbells.

Radar and “Bird’s Eye View” for Smarter Motion Detection

The flagship feature of the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro is the radar-powered 3D motion detection.

This technology is also called “Bird’s Eye View” and is used to track the path of objects as they cross the camera’s view.

This way, you can monitor the movement of visitors and see their route in detail. This technology is combined with algorithms that provide more accurate and specific motion alerts.

So, you won’t be constantly bothered by notifications every time an object passes through your yard.

Enhanced Visual Quality

The Ring Battery Doorbell Pro camera can record video in 1546p HD+ quality with upscaling features to produce sharper images.

In addition, the device also claims dynamic image processing and high-efficiency compression on this doorbell.

To support clear recording at night, there is a new feature called Low-Light Sight that promises “clear color” video in dark conditions.

Improved Audio and Battery Quality

The Ring Battery Doorbell Pro also features a noise cancellation algorithm. This allows you to easily hear the voice of the person at the door.

As the name suggests, this device uses a rechargeable battery. As a company acquired by Amazon, Ring offers Alexa functionality and Echo Show integration.

However, it should be noted that the company also encourages users to subscribe to Ring Alarm Pro, a service that provides cloud storage, package alerts, and backup internet when the power goes out.

Privacy Policy and Pricing Changes

Ring recently changed their policy regarding cooperation with the police.

Amazon, the owner of Ring, has stated that their doorbell units will no longer automatically fulfill requests for video footage without a warrant from law enforcement.

Meanwhile, the Ring Battery Doorbell Pro will be sold for $230 (around Rp3,4 million), while the subscription price for Ring Alarm Pro is $20 per month or $200 per year (around Rp300 thousand per month or Rp3 million per year).
